About Our Climate Reality Chapter

In 2006, Nobel Laureate and former US Vice President Al Gore got the world talking about climate change with the Academy Award-winning film An Inconvenient Truth.

It was just the beginning of a climate revolution. Later that year, he founded what would become The Climate Reality Project to move the conversation forward and turn awareness into action all across the Earth.

Today, as a Climate Reality Chapter, we’re a diverse group of passionate individuals who’ve come together to solve the greatest challenge of our time. We are activists, cultural leaders, organizers, scientists, storytellers and students committed to building a sustainable future together.

Most of our members live within commuting distance of the Twin Cities.  Currently, most of our meetings are held via Zoom.

About Joining Our Chapter

Minnesota is a land of tranquil lakes, rich forests and invigorating, dynamic seasons. It is our duty and honor to guard this natural legacy, but maintaining these resources takes activism, courage, teamwork and dedication. We need the next generation of climate leaders to join us and help fight the defining challenge of our time - climate change.

Rising temperatures are reducing crop yields, causing unprecedented infrastructure damage, and unleashing more extreme weather events, which threaten not only our lives and property but our future. To combat the causes of climate change, we must build a broad coalition to amplify the message that climate change is real, and it is here.

We can become agents of the change we are looking for, and shift the tide on global warming. Within each of us is an activist. A cultural leader. An organizer. A scientist. A storyteller. If you have a passion for engaging with causes and working to build a sustained effort to combat climate change...
