Climate Modeling: An Introduction to EN-ROADS
Bill Middlecamp from our own Central Minnesota Chapter Presentation team gave us a demonstration on the operation and capabilities of the online En-roads tool. En-ROADS is a global climate simulator that allows users to explore the impact that dozens of policies—such as electrifying transport, pricing carbon, and improving agricultural practices—have on hundreds of factors like energy prices, temperature, air quality, and sea level rise. As an official trained En-Roads ambassador, Bill has lead multiple groups through the use of the tool, and how it can be used to facilitate real discussion on the potential solutions to climate change, breaking through the flurry of research and data points to find those solutions that both quickly address rising CO2 emissions and stand a chance of being implemented into public policy.
